Tim Bliss is an accomplished real estate and business attorney with more than 20 years of experience guiding clients through high-stakes transactions and complex legal matters.

Prior to founding Bliss Law PLC, Tim was a partner at the Bodman Law Firm, where he successfully handled over 1,000 real estate transactions on behalf of buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, and developers across Michigan.

Known for his pragmatic, detail-oriented approach, Tim is trusted by clients to provide practical legal advice that minimizes risk and keeps deals moving. He is highly responsive, organized, and solution-focused—whether drafting a commercial lease, structuring a land contract, or advising on a corporate transition.

Tim earned his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2003, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif (top 10%). He also holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

A leader in his field, Tim has served as Past President and Vice President of the Emmet Charlevoix Bar Association. He is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property Law Section, where he serves as Co-Chair of the Leasing Committee and Director of the “Ask the Expert” Program.

Tim lives in Petoskey with his wife and three children. Together, they enjoy boating, fishing, and making the most of life in Northern Michigan.
